We feel that the somewhat "shy' variety, Aligoté, receives a little less attention than it deserves, and in this instance, the same applies to the winery, Sarnin-Berrux. Based in Monthelie they produce natural wines from grapes sourced in the most appraised regions of Burgundy. This wine is floral and ultra-expressive, lemon zest and honey on the palate hint at the superbly long finish to come. It is gentle and at the same time focused with good balance; it certainly delivers on the Burgundy "unwritten promise" of quality. A great bottle of white wine that has so much going for it at a stunning value. We recommend serving this chilled with a variety of fresh seafood and cold pasta salads.
