Gabernik 23 is a small family-owned winery in Štajerska, Slovenia. Winemaker Janko started working in the vineyards with his dad at the age of 10, and at just 18 was forced to take over the family business after the sudden passing of his father. Farming sustainably on nine hectares of vineyards situated on the slopes around Ritoznoj in the foothills of the Pohorje range, Janko is producing fresh, modern, vibrant wines from grapes including Zweigelt, Yellow Muskat and Pinot Noir. His refreshing pet-nats, complex traditional method wines, and juicy orange and light reds all prioritise drinkability and a natural approach, with minimal SO2 used.
