With the recent rise of wine from Jura, a tiny region on its own right, we are now in the UK getting familiar with even smaller wine regions within the same area - France on the boarder with Switzerland & Italy. One of them is Savoie, which is where this wine comes from; the land of the alps, the kingdom of the beautiful mont blanc and home of delicate white wines and fresh, light reds. Introducing Borboyon which is made from old vines of majority Jacquere (50% direct press and 50% on 2 week skin contact) and a tiny splash of Altesse, both rare local varieties. Delicate and and at the same time expressive and generous, a real terroir wine evoking notes of granny smith, mangoes, pears and a touch of tropical fruit. We recommend serving chilled and opening some 10 minutes before serving. excellent with roasted poultry dishes.
