An equal blend of Syrah and Grenache from the Michel’s vineyards at the heart of Roussillon. Harvested manually and fully destemmed, the grapes are then macerated for a fairly brief 15 days in concrete vats. Pigeage every 2 days, a light pumping over every 3 days, long and gentle pressing, and finally putting into used oak barrels. “the color is translucent garnet. The nose is rather shy on opening with stewed black fruits, scrubland and spices. The palate is wide, silky and deep, unravelling a hyper-concentrated and sappy, candied material while offering delightful and fully melted tannins. The finish gains yet more intensity and freshness, concluding with a tasty chew of blackberry, liquorice and pepper. Stunning !”
