Cuordivigna Orange

Quite a few aromatic white varieties such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Muscat produce great maceration wines (aka orange wines), yet none as much as the strain of Malvasia that makes this wine, “Malvasia di Candia Aromatica”, found mainly on the fertile soils of Emilia Romagna. As the name suggests, it is able to yield sweet, tropical notes that are candy-like. This variety is the flagship of maceration wine made by prestige natural wineries in Emilia Romagna such as La Stoppa, Denavolo, Casé, Podere Pradarolo and others. Cuordivigna is up there with the best of them, sumptuous tropical fruit on the nose with a trace of mineral notes that offers some freshness. The palate is dry with concentrated fruit, a continuation of the aromas along with good acidity that provides balance. The finish is long, consistent and satisfying with more tropical fruit and lovely herbaceous touch. A juicy, serious, fun and very drinkable wine. We love it! The work in the vineyard is organic and the wine is carefully made in very low intervention. Leo, the man behind the Bulli winery is a class act producing lively, classy wines.
