Malvasia is the queen of Italian aromatic varieties and the ruler of all orange wines from the Emilia-Romagna. Cuordivigna 2023 has aromas of ripe peach, pineapple and glazed citrus peel. The palate starts with all that fruitiness and evolves with secondary herbaceous notes and interesting mineral complexity. The finish is long and consistent with delicate touches of spice and souk aromatics such as cardamom, turmeric and ylang ylang tea. Great grip and lots of pulling power from a relatively low 12.5%. A rare wine that would pair with a host of meals such as fish/seafood and south-eastern Asian cuisine.
This variety is the flagship of maceration wine made by prestige natural wineries in Emilia Romagna such as La Stoppa, Denavolo, Casé, Podere Pradarolo and others.
