Greek red wines have an (unjust) reputation of being overly powerful, extracted and tannic. Whilst the Agiorgitiko variety can be used to produce such natural wines, this one the polar opposite. The colour is dark garnet colour, inviting, fruity aromas with dominating cherry, plump and dried spiced strawberry notes.
The palate is soft and warm with gentle nuances of red berries and a hint of warm spice. It is best served at room temperature and accompanies dishes such as rich mushroom stews or leg of lamb roast. Open 45-60 minutes before drinking, decanting encouraged where possible.
