If you liked the Clovallon Pinot Noir 2017, you'll absolutely love the 2021. Its better. In a sentence, its all that a good quality Burgundy red of should aspire to; Pinot Noir essential delicacy, freshness & lightness yet with a focused, firm backbone of flavour. If you are able to allow the wine to aerate for 20-25 minutes in order for a slight reduction to dissipate, it will reward you by showing itself in its full glory. Its quite a flexible wine too, chill it a bit to enjoy the acidity/freshness come to the fore, or serve it at room temperature to draw a denser material and slightly jammier notes. Dont hesitate to serve out of a decanter/carafe. Superb value for money!
Domaine de Clovallon is a small, family-run estate nestled in the hills of the Languedoc, near Bédarieux. Founded by Catherine Roque in the late 1980s, the domaine quickly gained a reputation for crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines with minimal intervention. Working organically since the start, Clovallon focuses on cooler microclimates ideal for Pinot Noir—an unusual grape for the region—which they handle with great precision and care. Catherine’s daughter Alix now helps run the estate, continuing their dedication to purity, finesse, and expressing the unique character of their limestone-rich soils.
