100% Pineau d’Aunis from the black schist soils of Anjou Noir, Brise d’Aunis is as playful as its Brice de Nice namesake. Expect juicy red berries, pretty florals and a generous crack of white pepper, backed by fresh acidity, fine tannins and a cheeky little spice kick. Light on its feet but bursting with character, this is bright, juicy Loire juice with a peppery twist. Perfect lightly chilled, whether you’re kicking things off with an aperitif or settling in for a long lunch. One glass quickly turns into three!
The grapes are destemmed and naturally fermented in concrete tanks, then aged for a few months in fibreglass. Unfined and unfiltered.
Based in Anjou, in the heart of the Loire Valley, La Grange aux Belles was founded by Marc Houtin, who swapped a career in geology for a life among the vines. Working alongside Gérald Peau, the duo farm 15 hectares of organically certified vineyards across the Coteaux de l’Aubance.
Rooted in schist-rich soils, they grow a diverse mix of varieties, including Chenin Blanc, Grolleau, Cabernet Franc and Pineau d’Aunis. Inspired by the natural wine movement, they focus on organic viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar, crafting fresh, characterful wines made for pure drinking pleasure.
