Les Chênes 2021

Rich, structured white Burgundy from old vines in the heart of Macon-Loché.

This is the oldest plot in the Tripoz estate. It belonged to Céline's mother and has been purely organic for over 50 years; a rarity indeed. Its name, Les Chênes, hints at its vinification; fermentation and further 10 months ageing in barrels. But mainly it is the old, cadastral name of this plot.

"The colour is light gold, shiny. The nose is intense, with notes of roasted apples, candied citron and praline. The palate contrasts with its liveliness and tension, with a fine citric acidity that grabs you from the attack and never lets go. It is coated in a round, fresh, supple material, endowed with a ripe aromatics, close to that of the nose. The finish prolongs the tension of the mouth while concentrating the material, underlining it with a noble bitterness on the citrus peel, with always this lemony acidity which pursues its path.

We recommend serving only slightly chilled, about 30-40 minutes in the fridge (±14c). Open 20-30 minutes before serving. decanting/carafing welcome.

Note: this cuvée was until now in the Mâcon-Loché appellation. Its now in AOC Bourgogne, but the vines and the content are the same.
