Rancio 2007

"A Special" VDF Languedoc-Russillon, France
Rancio 2007
Featured Product Image Product Gallery Image

Translucent mahogany in the glass is a good indication for what is coming next; Aromas dominated by acidic notes, caramel, fig, coffee and spices. An enormously wide and complex spectrum of textures and tastes, you may find a beautifully toned acidity wearing a soft and indulging material soaked with spice, coffee, nut liquor and toffee. Long finish between sips. Not an everyday wine, with a further ageing potential of 5-10 years.

INFO ON GROWER
Domaine Lous Grezes is owned and operated by charming couple Luc and Trees in the scenery, hilly region of Domessargues in Languedoc. It is an exceptionally fertile and generous terroir that really allows the wine to "make itself" without the use of any additives or chemicals in farming and therefor in the vinification. At an altitude of 120m above sea level and southwest-facing vineyards, good sun exposure - good acidity is guaranteed. Fully-fledged members of the French SAINS association is a source of pride for the Domaine, which miraculously is relatively unknown in the UK. The wines are made with dedication and care with extreme attention to detail. Luc is passionate about creating wines that have beautiful acidity, complex and interesting taste that can age and evolve.
