Excellent orange wine from Slovakia, made by the 3 layered “Hamburger method.” This means that 10-15% of the grapes are foot trodden, 50% whole cluster and the rest is destemmed. This allows the semi-carbonic effect to work efficiently. Kept in these layers, it is macerated for 6 days within open vats. It is then gently pressed, and aged in old oak barrels for 8 months. The Gewürztraminer (Tramin) is dominant but in a juicy, smooth, acid-driven and hyper mineral fashion.
