La Cote 2016

"Classic Bordeaux Merlot" AOC Bordeaux, France
La Cote 2016

A fantastic example showcasing a natural classic Bordeaux with an unpretentious price tag. The focus is on producing a typical Merlot rather than using techniques to create a chubby product that loses the essence of this variety. The grapes are macerated for 3-4 weeks for soft extraction of the flavours, and subsequently aged for 18 months in concrete tanks (Again to highlight the natural character of the varieties). Bordeaux lovers will be delighted. Excellent with grilled meat or lamb. We would recommend un-corking (preferably decanting) 60-90 minutes before drinking.

INFO ON GROWER
Tire Pe has been making high-quality Bordeaux wines naturally and without the self-admiration usually associated with Chateaus from this region. Their wines are now starting to make a name for themselves outside the circles of connoisseurs: 1.Guide of the best wines of France 2018: "superb wines of fruit, of a texture and a depth which one rarely finds in the sector .." 2. Bettane and Dessauve 2018: "an amazing estate that produces authentic wines, frankly fruity, tasty, racy, natural, full of personality, brief amazing". The owners, Helen and David, draw their winemaking pleasure from respect, the attention and the understanding that giving to the terroir will yield its best fruit; balance, freshness and typicity. Outstanding wines with texture and depth surpassing many more known names.
