Sometimes you feel like opening a special bottle of red wine; An occasion or an evening where you'd like to indulge in something that you can sip slowly, relax and ponder away.
We may suggest Piva 2011 as a prime contender - 100% of Italy's majestic Nebbiolo (The same grape used for making Barolo) that has been vinified completely naturally, aged in used oak barrels for 3 years and a further 3 years in the bottle.
The appearance is between dark red and mahogany with discreet aromas of red berries, earthy notes, slight spice and cocoa. The palate is robust and explosive; fruity intricacies on a toned and dense material, high, controlled acidity and gritty tannins and more fruit to complete. As with all of Cascina Roera's wines, the alcohol is perfectly integrated. A classic.
