Sumoll is a grape variety endemic to the Penedes region in Catalunya (The same place where the famous cavas are produced). It is relatively unknown due to its scarcity, being a demanding vine to maintain. This carefully looked after plot of red Sumoll was planted in 1947 and produces an elegant fruit that is in turn skilfully elaborated into this brilliant natural red wine. Extremely drinkable with forest fruit aromas, good acidity with a palate showing kindred fruit spice and interesting notes of aromatic herbs. Would be best enjoyed an hour or more after opening. Very limited production.
