Vain de Rû 2019

"Colombard White" VDF Gascony, France
Vain de Rû 2019
Featured Product Image Product Gallery Image

This wine is made from 100% Colombard, endemic to South-west France, who was used to produce armagnac and cognac. Vain du ru (Roughly translated to wine of the party) is in fact a good aperitif and a good match with grilled fish and poultry dishes due to its complexity and minerality.

INFO ON GROWER
Dominic Andiran is somewhat of an experimental winemaker who isnt afraid to try methods that are off the beaten track. As a result of falling ill, working at his uncle's vineyard, from spraying the vines with insecticides, Dominic decided that he will do things differently or quit winemaking altogether. Certified organic from 2000, Domaine Haut Campagnau produces a series of wines from varieties such as Chardonnay, Colombard, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Muscadelle, Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Tannat. All wines are labeled "Vin de France" which disallows showing the year of the vintage. But if you read the number in the middle of the label, you might get a hint.
