Weisser Meinklang 2020

A lovely orange wine made from a blend of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris (pinot Grigio) and Welschriesling. Nice, tempting aromas of floral white fruit with a touch of exotic fruit, the palate is fluid, dry and sharp with pleasant nuances of citrus peel and fresh green apple. Fresh and very drinkable.
Pigama

A “gloglou” (meaning very drinkable) natural wine done right. The blending of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Maréchal Foch (a hybrid cross between riesling and a few other varieties!) raised individually in old barrels for 8-12 months. Light purple in the glass, the aromas are of freshly baked cherry pie, dark fruit compote and a slight touch of florality. The sip is fresh and direct, and a direct continuation of the aromas; a tiny bit of acidity and spice make it interesting and unique. We recommend serving chilled (about 25-30 minutes in the fridge).
Ora

This Hungarian orange wine is made from four varieties (Kiralyleanyka, Rhine Riesling, Karslevelu and Furmint) in a field blend. The maceration lasts for a number of days resulting in a
wine that is complex, expressive and full of flavour, with notes of ripe orange and citrus supported by a hint of cinnamon, dried herbs and a touch of toffee (something like Werther’s Original). By smelling the aromas it really feels like it will have some sweetness but it doesn’t, which will delight you. Serve this chilled (about 45 minutes in the fridge and would pair well with a
charcuterie board, hard cheeses or south Asian cuisine.
Definitely Today 2023

Unrelated to the more famous Riesling grape, Welschriesling is a variety mostly found in Austria and throughout central Europe. The “Definitely Today 2023” is pure and refreshing (on 11.5% abv) with a charming sweet sensation. It displays slightly cloudy, pale yellow in the glass with gentle floral aromas. On the palate you will find keen acidity balanced by roundness that slowly intensifies as it “opens”; the texture is fluid but invigoratingly toned. A wine that will win you over with its subtleness and caressing touch, a real beauty. Perfect match with fresh goats cheese and sourdough bread, roast chicken, middle eastern cuisines such as aubergine salad, mild tzatziki and avocado salads.
We recommend opening 25-30 minutes before drinking and serving chilled (8c-10c).
La Blanca

This natural wine follows the very traditional model of the ‘field blend’. The varieties grown side-by-side are picked together, such that this becomes a cuvée of the vineyard itself. These vines enjoy a landscape of biodiversity, surrounded by fruit trees and interplanted with a variety of herbs and grasses which provide a variety of benefits.
45% Riesling + 20% Pinot Blanc fermented in stainless steel vats. 35% tramin, pinot gris, sauvignon, riesling 14 days macerated on skins.
The result is a refreshing and light (10.5%) wine, yet one with presence and character. Fine acidity is balanced by a full palate and a sweet sensation on the finish. Serve chilled (8c-10c).
Coquette 2020

A new natural wine from Domaine Rietsch is always a reason to get excited, even if it doesn’t come with one of those beautiful labels. A blend of 1/3 Gewurztraminer (macerated 15 days) and 2/3 Riesling come together in fantastic harmony in this wine. Expressive aromas of violet, orange blossom and oriental spices lead to the generous and wide mouthfeel, mouthwatering acidity balanced by a soft touch of spice and fresh fruit, all wrapped in dense material.
An excellent wine that really brings out the best of both varieties highlighted by the purity you would expect from this winery.
Promised Land 2014

Tim Phillips, the winemaker behind Charlie Herring wines, cultivates his grapes inside a walled vineyard that was built in Victorian Times. This unique setting increases the temperature inside the vineyard which produces a riper and richer wines. It shows just how high a high quality wines can be made in the UK. This Riesling spent 4 years of maceration on lees, similar to champagnes, which gives it an interesting depth of flavour. It has incredible structure and is recommended to be drunk over 2-3 days. Simply replace a normal wine cork or a bottle stopper and put in the fridge. Tim suggests decanting it if drank at once. This wine is made at very small quantites and may not always be available.
